The 2021 K2 Poacher 96 Twin Tip ski is built for riders who share their time between man made features in the park and natural elements on the hill. The weapon of choice for many of K2’s team riders, the Poacher is a light and durable Jack of all trades.
Wood core promotes a playful feel whilst carbon reinforcements bring power and pop to the all-terrain game. Twin tip with All Terrain Rocker adds ease of initiation into tricks or turns in al conditions and adds versatility and approachability for skiers of all ability levels.
K2 built the poacher with a double barrel wood core made of high density and durable fir at the edges and lighter, bouncier aspen at the core. Two layers of fibreglass add torsional stiffness and strength to the ski without adding any weight. TwinTech sidewalls provide the durability needed for constant rail impact, ski on ski abrasion and the occasional wipe-out.
The Poacher is the epitome of a new age twin tip ski. Where twin tips used to be fully cambered and made specifically for the park, the Poacher is built as an all mountain ski with the added features for the park as an add on. Our main takeaway from this ski at ski tests was their ability to hold an edge on hard snow days and their incomparable responsiveness edge to edge. They are an absolute blast in the trees and bumps.
The poacher is an absolute all mountain weapon for intermediate to advanced riders who split their time on the mountain and don’t want to be held back regardless of where they’re skiing.
This ski comes without bindings so you can ensure you make the right choice for your specific needs. We recommend pairing the K2 Poacher 96 with a Marker Squire or Tyrollia Attack 13, with a brake width equal to or at most 15mm wider than the ski waist width.
