Traction Tech 2.0
Traction Tech adds more contact points along the edge of the board, adding confidence to your turns. It looks like a slight wave along the edge. Each wave-top creates just enough contact when the board is flexed though a turn to maintain hold. This works well with rockered boards which can get a little lose without it!
By increasing the sidecut radius as you get close to the contact point, you get much smoother transitions from edge to edge and turning is WAY easier! You get sidecut where you need it – between your feet, then progressively less towards the ends of the board.
Directional Freeride Shape
This board is designed and manufactured to excel when taken off-piste and in challenging steep and technical terrain. Differing combinations of rocker and camber are mixed with varying levels of flex to provide awesome control and float.
The blunt nose you see on Jones snowboards is a feature that helps in two ways. You get less swing weight on the board – there’s less board so it’s lighter! It also helps to displace the snow better and means you do lees ploughing and more gliding!
Spoon 1.0 provides a very subtle 2mm spoon bevel at the nose and the tail. This means that the edges are raised 2mm from the centre of the nose and tail, much like a spoon!
This creates a magic effect improving you glide, flow and float. The snow is gently guided past the edges of your board instead of being ploughed with a traditional nose design. The raised edges allow for a super-smooth transition from edge to edge when turning, without the catchiness of non-raised contact points.
