The Salomon Idol 8 is a women's specific model for a solid all mountain skiing. A boot of this level needs to be powerful to precisely set an edge on hardpack but also has to be forgiving enough to absorb shock in the bumps and crud. The Idol 8 is all that. The Idol 8 shares the same technological features of the men?s Impact series, but it has needs and shape for a woman. Flex index: 80.

The fit of the Idol 8 is described best as the lower side of medium. This offers a close fit that most performance skiers of average footshape should appreciate. The forefoot width is cut at 100 mm, so the foot does not wander side to side. The instep and heel volume are medium at best.
